Terms of Service
Last updated: 30 August 2026
1. Who we are
GolfFlip is operated by Golf Flip Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17429818), registered office 27 St Marys Road, Eastbourne, BN21 1QD ("GolfFlip", "we", "us"). These terms apply to everyone who uses golfflip.co.uk (the "Platform"), whether buying, selling, or just browsing. By creating an account or using the Platform you agree to these terms.
2. What GolfFlip is, and isn't
GolfFlip is a peer-to-peer marketplace for second-hand golf gear. We connect individual buyers and sellers, we are not a retailer, we don't own, inspect, or guarantee the condition of any item listed, and we are not a party to the contract of sale itself. That contract is between the buyer and seller directly. GolfFlip's role is to provide the listing, search, payment, escrow, shipping-box and dispute infrastructure around that transaction.
3. Private sales vs. Pro Account (business) sales
Most sellers on GolfFlip are private individuals selling their own gear, these are private, peer-to-peer sales, and consumer protection law generally treats them differently from a sale by a business. Where a seller has a verified "Pro Account" (shown as a trader badge on their listings), they are selling as a business, and the full range of UK consumer protection law applies to that sale, including a 14-day cancellation right and stronger statutory quality rights that don't apply to private sales. We tell you before checkout, on the listing itself, whenever you're buying from a Pro Account. Pro Account sales are additionally governed by our Business Seller Agreement, which takes priority over these general terms wherever the two address the same point for a trader sale.
4. Eligibility & your account
You must be at least 18 and able to form a binding contract under English law to buy or sell on GolfFlip. You're responsible for keeping your login details secure and for all activity on your account. One account per person, tell us immediately at support@golfflip.co.uk if you think your account has been compromised. We may ask for reasonable verification information if we suspect fraud or abuse.
5. Listing an item
Listing is free, GolfFlip doesn't charge sellers a listing fee or commission. Sellers must describe items accurately, including brand, spec, condition and any defects or damage, and must own the item and have the right to sell it. Misleading, inaccurate or duplicate listings may be edited or removed, and repeated issues may result in account suspension. You can remove an active listing at any time before it sells.
6. Buying an item
When you check out, you're making an offer to buy directly from the seller at the listed price plus the fees shown. A contract of sale is formed once payment is confirmed. Because items are second-hand and individually described by the seller, please read listings carefully, GolfFlip can't guarantee accuracy of a seller's description, though we do require it.
7. Fees
Buyers pay a buyer protection fee at checkout, calculated automatically and shown itemised before payment, this is never a fixed or negotiable amount you set yourself. Sellers who confirm they need a shipping box pay a £5.99 fee upfront, charged at the point they confirm, not deducted from their payout. If a seller declines a box before confirming and paying, no charge applies. Postage costs for delivery sales are shown to the buyer at checkout and are separate from the seller's box fee. GolfFlip is not VAT-registered, so none of the prices above include or exclude VAT, they're final, all-in amounts.
8. Payment, escrow & payouts
Payments are processed by Stripe, our payment provider, GolfFlip never sees or stores your full card details. For delivery sales, the buyer's payment is held by GolfFlip until the buyer confirms receipt, or a fixed window passes after the item is marked as shipped, whichever happens first. For collection sales with buyer protection enabled, funds release once the seller enters the 4-digit collection code the buyer gives them in person. Sellers must complete Stripe's payout verification before they can sell. Off-platform cash transactions arranged directly between users fall entirely outside GolfFlip's protection and these terms don't cover them.
9. Shipping boxes & collection
If a seller requests a shipping box for a delivery sale, they choose whether to confirm and pay the £5.99 fee upfront, or decline at no cost. GolfFlip only posts a box out once that fee has been paid. Because it's paid upfront rather than deducted from a later payout, it stands once paid regardless of whether the sale later falls through. Collection sales are arranged directly between buyer and seller; GolfFlip is not responsible for arranging or supervising the physical handover.
10. Cancellations
Either party can request to cancel an order before it has been marked as shipped, from the order page. Cancelling before shipping results in a full refund to the buyer. Once an item has shipped, cancellation is treated as a dispute (see below) rather than a straightforward refund, since the item is already in transit.
11. Disputes
If an item arrives not as described, damaged in transit, or doesn't arrive at all, either party can raise a dispute from their order page. GolfFlip will review evidence from both sides, messages, photos, tracking, and may pause fund release while mediating. We aim to resolve disputes fairly and promptly, but GolfFlip's decision on fund release is final for the purposes of the Platform; it doesn't affect either party's separate legal rights.
12. Prohibited items & conduct
Counterfeit, stolen, or unsafe items may never be listed. As a marketplace, GolfFlip isn't automatically liable for what third parties list, provided we act reasonably once notified, by removing listings, applying seller strikes, and providing reporting tools. Report suspected counterfeit or prohibited items to support@golfflip.co.uk and we'll investigate. Abusive, threatening or fraudulent behaviour toward other users or GolfFlip staff will result in account suspension.
13. Content you submit
You keep ownership of the photos, descriptions and messages you post, but you grant GolfFlip a licence to host, display and reproduce that content on the Platform for the purpose of operating the marketplace (for example, showing your listing photos in search results). Don't upload anything you don't have the rights to, or anything unlawful, and don't post other people's personal information without their consent.
14. Our intellectual property
The GolfFlip name, logo, and the Platform's design and code belong to Golf Flip Ltd and may not be copied, reused, or used to imply endorsement without our written permission.
15. Liability
GolfFlip provides the Platform "as is." We aren't liable for the condition, legality, safety or accuracy of items listed by users, or for losses arising from a transaction between a buyer and seller, beyond the protections described in these terms (escrow, buyer protection fee, box fee handling, and dispute review). Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't legally be limited, including for death, personal injury caused by our negligence, or fraud.
16. Suspension & termination
You can close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, is used fraudulently, or poses a risk to other users, with notice where reasonably possible.
17. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the Platform develops. We'll post the updated version here with a new "last updated" date; continuing to use GolfFlip after a change means you accept the update.
18. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any dispute about them is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
